A 14ct Rose Gold Erotic Automaton Swiss Full Hunter Quarter Repeater Keyless Lever Pocket Watch C1900s.

Dial: A white enamel dial with Roman Numerals outer minute track with Arabic minute markers at five minute intervals, a sub second dial at six o'clock with rose gold Louis XVI style hands and a blued steel second hand.

Case: The large 14ct Gold full hunter case with plain front and back covers. The repeater slide located on the side of the case. The hallmarked Swiss case with the the plain inner cuvette which has a secret compartment which opens to reveal an erotic automaton scene of a man and a woman in beautifully painted hard enamel. The figures move when the repeat slide is operated.

Movement: The Swiss gilt finished movement which is fully jewelled but unsigned is of excellent quality being jewelled to the centre arbor. The watch chimes the hours and quarters very clearly.

This pocket watch is important and rare to find because of the excellent condition it is in. This type of watch was considered a novelty in the Victorian era. What is also interesting is that the case is hallmarked for the Russian market.
