A rare, decorative fine pearl-set enamel pocket watch

with central seconds

manufactured for the Chinese market

This remarable enamel pocket watch was manufactured for the Chinese market in the second half of the 19th century . The speciality of this pocket watch is the remarkable, lavishly decorated cream-coloured enamel dial. It has an applied central gold decoration inlaid with green stones. The faceted gold rhombs are mounted between Roman hours. The case is half pearl-set on both sides. The back side of this pocket watch has a central, polychrome enamel medaillon in finest perfection. This precious enamel painting shows the depiction of a beauty in profile, she wears a scarf which is fixed on the head with a shiny brooch.. This extremely fine painting is on an engine-turned, translucent cobalt blue enamelled ground. The lavishly florally engraved bridge movement is gilt and protected behind a glass dome with winding holes. The movement is a typical movement for the Chinese market with remarkable, abundant floral engraving and going barrell.

Diese außergewöhnliche, seltene Emailtaschenuhr wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts für den chinesischen Markt hergestellt. Das Besondere an dieser Taschenuhr ist das feine, aufwendig dekorierte cremefarbene Emailzifferblatt. Es hat eine aufgelegte, zentrale Golddekoration mit eingearbeiteten grünen Steinchen, zwischen den römischen Stunden sind goldene, facettierte Rauten angebracht. Das Gehäuse ist beiderseitig mit edlen Halbperlen besetzt. Die Rückseite der Taschenuhr hat ein zentrales, polychromes Emailmedaillon in feinster Vollendung. Diese kostbare Emailmalerei zeigt die Darstellung einer Schönheit im Profil, sie trägt ein Kopftuch, das mit einer glänzenden Brosche am Kopf gehalten wird. Diese extrem feine Malerei befindet sich auf guillochiertem, transluzid cobaltblau emailliertem Grund. Das aufwendig floral gravierte Brückenwerk ist vergoldet und liegt geschützt hinter einer Glascuvette mit Aufzugsöffnungen. Das ist ein typisches Werk für den chinesischen Markt mit außergewöhnlicher, reichlicher floraler Gravur und fliegendem Federhaus.
